Hream (dir. by Geoffrey Hug) having European premiere at Le Guess Who 2019 in Utrecht next Fri, 11/8

Hream, a documentary directed by Geoffrey Hug, is having its European premiere at Le Guess Who Festival next Friday, 11/8 at 12pm with a Q&A hosted by John Doran from the Quietus to follow.

The film offers an intimate look into adult music student and male nurse Doug Hream Blunt’s first-ever shows outside of Laguna Honda Hospital, where he played exclusively for his AIDS ward patients in the 1980s.  Creating a new band in each city he performs, Blunt is joined by a multitude of 12-15-year old students as well as established musicians such as David Byrne, Peanut Butter Wolf, Luke Jenner of the Rapture, Dan Luscombe of the Drones, Joakim, Aaron Coyes of Peaking Lights, and many others.

Doug Hream Blunt will then perform the following night (Sat, 11/9) with a one-time band made up of locals, fellow music students and director Geoffrey Hug.
